Anatomy & Physiology (start here)
Body systems to know
Cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, nervous, endocrine (hormones!), immune, musculoskeletal, reproductive, urinary, and integumentary.
Tip
Learn each system's main organs, their jobs, and how systems work together. Directional terms and body planes are quick points.
Biology
Key topics
Cell structure and organelles, mitosis and meiosis, DNA/RNA and protein synthesis, Mendelian genetics and Punnett squares, and macromolecules.
Chemistry
Key topics
Atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical bonds, balancing equations, reaction types, pH, acids and bases, and properties of water.
Scientific Reasoning
Key topics
The scientific method, independent vs dependent variables, controls, reading graphs, and units of measurement.
Tip
These questions reward careful reading more than memorization.
How to study for TEAS science
- Flashcards in short bursts: about 15 minutes at a time. Say answers out loud, star the ones you miss, and review the starred ones.
- One system at a time: finish a topic, then do a short quiz on it.
- Timed mixed sets: you have about 72 seconds per question, so practice pacing.
- Review mistakes: write down why the correct answer is correct.
